Barbabue Opportunities for (Non-Profit) Community Groups

Valley Stove and Cycle is proud to be part of this community and we want to give back where and when we can.

One way we can help is by offering the use of our Black Olive Pellet-fed Barbaque and enough pellets for the day.  Your (non-profit) community group supplies the food and beverages as well as the folks to do the cooking and serving.

Please give us as least one week notice if you are interested in this fund raising opportunity.  You can contact us at 902-542-7280 or by email at mike@valleystoveandcycle.com.

Spring Riding

The sun is shining and thoughts of riding are on our mind.  It's time to get the bikes tuned up, and hit the road.  Here are a couple of  items you should consider to  make your spring cycling more enjoyable.

Get Your Bike Tuned Up:

Make sure your bike is ready.  Bring your bike in and we will be happy to ensure your bike is safe with one of our three maintenance packages.  Please book ahead as we do get busy very quickly.

Have the Right Clothes:

The rides often start off chilly and then warm up quickly.  The proper clothing including lightweight jerseys, and shorts can be layered and will remove the moisture from your body and keep the wind and weather from affecting your ride.  We carry Louis Garneau, Sugoi, Dakine, Axiom, and other brands to guarantee proper fit and usage.  We also have arm and leg warmers that can be removed mid ride to maintain comfort and body temperature.  High visibility clothing is very important on the road and we have a wide range of vests and jackets/

Check Road Conditions:

We've had a heck of a winter and there are some snowbanks around.  The roads have taken a beating as well so keep your wits about you.  Motorists need to get used to us again so stay alert when riding in traffic.

Have Fun!:

Your first ride may not be as fast or as long as your last ride before you put the bike away.  If you have been spinning during the winter this transition may not even be noticable. For the rest of us, pick a route that will get your legs used to riding again.  Choose a distance that is shorter and less technical than you would ride in your prime condition.  Build up to your peak riding in both intensity and distance.

At Valley Stove and Cycle we have all your needs and expertise to help you get the most out of your cycling.  We are always willing to help you out!
